FamilyNotifying us of a Liberty employee death
It can be very difficult to know what steps to take after losing a loved one. If a Liberty Mutual employee has died, below is a checklist to help spouses, partners and children keep a terrible event from becoming even more painful:
The HR Support Center will work with the deceased’s manager to:
- Ensure the deceased’s time management record is up-to-date
- Process a termination in People at Liberty
- When appropriate, inventory and box up the deceased’s personal items for shipment to the family
- Determine the appropriate time to retrieve equipment or other Company resources at the deceased’s home (i.e. laptop, cell phone, Company car)
On that call, the employee’s survivor will need to select the “Report a Death” prompt. A condolence letter will be sent with information about any applicable survivor benefits, vacation and life insurance payouts and Ayco Survivor Support.
