If a Liberty Mutual employee is turning 26 and is enrolled in their parents’ health, dental and/or vision plan, generally, coverage through their parents will automatically end at the end of the month in which they turn 26. This is a qualified change in status, so employees may make certain changes to their Liberty Mutual benefits coverage. Employees have 30 days from the date they turn 26 to change their Liberty Mutual coverage.
Here are some steps they can take to help with this process:
Coverage through parents’ plans will likely continue until the last day of the month in which the employee’s birthday occurs. They can access BenefitConnect to enroll in coverage through Liberty Mutual for health, dental and/or vision plans. Select Health > Employee Loses Other Group Coverage to change coverage.
